Church Connections
Pastor's Consultation
Pastors Consultations are scheduled for October 7–10, 2008, April 21–24, 2009, and October 13–16, 2009.
A recent survey indicated that the American church might be losing its focus for global evangelism. Some leaders perceive missions as too costly for the church to continue sending and supporting overseas missionaries.
Some have expressed concern about a lack of long-term commitment to the missionary challenge. As a mission agency, working with its third generation of missionaries, we are concerned that we address the true missionary issues of our times. We want to be sure that the approaches we use are the ones best suited to reach the cultures of today. To date over 700 pastors have participated in these challenging world missions consultations. The feedback from pastors who have attended these four-day sessions indicates that it was also a useful time for them.
We are inviting pastors from across the United States and Canada to sit in counsel with us at the ABWE International Administration and Training Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Purpose Of Paster Consultation
- To discuss with 40 pastors from various cultural, educational and ministry backgrounds, the challenges we face together in the great task of world evangelism.
- To foster an environment where men can freely express their minds and hearts, enter into serious dialogue, share counsel and concerns and communicate wisdom without fear of reprisal, labeling or injury to relationships.
- To provide a consultation that will cover the basic issues of missions that will assist the pastor in his personal life as well as his leadership in the local church.
- To present instruction that will inform, provoke, challenge, encourage, strengthen and motivate those who attend.
- To listen, as a mission, to pastors in order to increase our effectiveness in serving local churches who send and support ABWE personnel.
- To further evidence our sincere desire to be obedient to our Lord’s Great Commission.
