The Power of the Lord in the Face of Persecution

of the garage where the church meets.

After the fall of of Communism in Romania, a church located in the suburbs of Bucharest desired to plant a church in the village of Pantelimon. Through the help of a Brazilian missionary, they purchased some land in the village, but soon after the purchase, persecution started. Several Romanian Orthodox priests came one day and, with several television crews filming, prayed that God would curse the ground and prevent the Baptist church from being planted. Non-violent persecution has regularly been occurring since that time.

But God has been at work. A church planter name George began to dream of having a place to meet on the property. He creatively put two garages end to end and connected them together, providing a place for the church to meet. The church as grown, and on occasional Sundays they have had over 60 attendants. They are now planning to build onto more garages to enlarge their building.

Pray for this church to have a place to be used for training teens and children. Pray that they could develop more cell groups and have spiritually mature leaders for those groups. Pray also that they would find a partner church to work with them in evangelizing Pentelimon.
